Abstract:
My research group focuses primarily on design and functionalization of nanomaterials (e.g. metallic nanoparticles, graphene based materials, Mxene based materials, cellulose nanofibers) for enhancing the analytical performances of chemical/biosensor in term of detection sensitivity, stability and accuracy for food contaminants and disease biomarkers. Currently, rather than creating novel ideas and proof-of-concept works, some of our established prototypes have reached TRL 5, which are ready for real environmental testing, such as real patient testing in the hospital. Herein this talk, all of these concept ideas and real applications will be discussed.
Bio:
Prof. Nadnudda Rodthongkum received her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 2011, where she worked with Prof. Richard W. Vachet on development of nanomaterials for biomolecule detection by Mass Spectrometry. She was then the Ph.D. Research fellow at Abbott Bioresearch Center Inc., Worcester, MA, USA in the section of bioanalytical chemistry. Prof. Rodthongkum became a researcher at Metallurgy and Materials Science Research Institute, Chulalongkorn University in 2012 and a deputy director from 2019 to the present. Prof. Rodthongkum began as a faculty member of the Chemistry Department at Chulalongkorn University starting December 2024. Her research group focuses on design and functionalization of nanomaterials for chemical/bio sensor, theranostic device and mass spectrometric applications.
