Seminar series — Spatiotemporal regulation of intracellular cyclic nucleotide signaling in myocytes and neurons: Implications in heart failure and Alzheimer’s disease

Department of Pharmacology & Pharmacy
 When:

28 March 2023 at 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Speaker:
Professor Kevin Xiang

Professor
Department of Pharmacology
University of California at Davis, USA

Speaker Biography:
Prof. Xiang's research focuses on membrane receptor signaling pathways (GPCRs, RTKs, and cytokine receptors) and downstream signaling molecules, including phosphatases, phosphodiesterases, kinases, and their roles in cardiac and brain diseases. He applies multidisciplinary cutting edge molecular, cellular, electrophysiological, and behavioral methods, including single molecular SiMPull analysis, FRET and FLIM analysis, superresolution microscopy, and single Ca2+ channel recording. Many of his peer-reviewed publications are in journals that demand highly comprehensive studies (Circulation Research, Circulation, Cell, PNAS, Nature, Science, Nature Communication, Elife, etc.). He was awarded an AHA Established Investigator award in 2010 and VA Career Scientist Award in 2021. He has established a globally leading research program and has established an international network of productive collaborations with other investigators.
